Why Families Choose Piano Foundations

More than a piano class—it’s the right beginning.

The Piano Foundations Program was thoughtfully designed for families who want an exceptional musical education without the cost of weekly private lessons.

Every class combines personalized instruction, complete musicianship, and the encouragement of learning alongside peers. Students don’t simply learn to play songs. They develop the skills, confidence, and musical understanding that create a foundation for years of success, wherever their musical journeys may take them.

Why Families Love Piano Foundations

Expert, Supportive Instruction

Piano Foundations is taught by an experienced teaching team under the direction of Dr. Michael Schneider. Students benefit from knowledgeable instruction, careful observation, and consistent support throughout every class.

A Class of Just Four Students

Every child receives meaningful individual guidance while enjoying the motivation, friendships, and energy that come from learning alongside peers.

Understand Music—not Just Memorize Songs

Students develop piano technique, note reading, rhythm, theory, ear training, and musical understanding. They learn what they are playing and why.

Learn How to Practice Successfully

Guided practice is built into every class. Students receive immediate feedback and leave knowing how to continue successfully at home.

A Program Designed for Beginners

Piano Foundations gives beginning students a clear, carefully paced introduction to piano. Each part of the program is structured to help children experience success while steadily building new skills.

Premium Instruction. Exceptional Value.

Families receive a thoughtfully structured musical education at a significantly lower investment ($450/semester) than traditional weekly private lessons (~$800/semester) — without compromising instructional quality.

Everything you need to know.

Select a question to reveal the answer.

Is my child ready for the Piano Foundations Program?
+

The program is designed for beginning students entering Grades 1–6 who enjoy learning with others and benefit from structure, encouragement, and accountability.

When is the Piano Foundations Program offered?
+

Multiple sessions are available to choose from each week, typically on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school or in the early evening hours. During registration, you’ll select your preferred class section from the the available options. Spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Will my child be grouped with students much younger or older than they are?+

No. While the Piano Foundations Program serves students in Grades 1–6, classes are intentionally organized so students learn alongside others with similar ages and developmental readiness whenever possible.

Each weekly class includes 3 instructional rotations, allowing up to 12 students to enroll while maintaining our 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio. This flexible format enables us to thoughtfully group students by age, experience, and learning pace, creating an environment where every child feels comfortable, challenged, and successful.

Our goal is for every student to learn with peers who are at a similar stage of musical and personal development while still benefiting from the individualized attention that comes with our small-group model.

What happens if my child misses a class?
+

Because students progress together as a small learning community, makeup classes are not available for missed sessions.

Are books included in tuition?
+

Books and required materials are additional and will be billed with the first tuition invoice. You can expect an approximately $25 charge per semester. There is no registration fee.

Can tuition be divided into payments?
+

Yes. Families may pay the $450 semester tuition in full or in two or three installments. BONUS: If you choose to pay in full, books will be provided at no additional charge.

What if my child already has piano experience?
